Curse of the Crow Forest

The raiding party trudged through the dark forest, with hardly a sound as the moist vegetation on the ground soften their footsteps. Despite a full moon, hardly any light penetrated the dense foliage to lit their way. In single file, the group worked their way in silence.

"Eaaarrgggghhhh!" a blood curdling scream was the only warning they had when a group of crazed pioneers launched their assault. A wave of fire fired from unseen hands washed upon the fighters in the front who hastened to raise their shields. Skirmishers jumped from the branches into the magi moving in the middle of the file and engaged them in close combat. The magi were unfazed. Protection shields were raised to buy precious time to regroup while the guards from the rear rushed forward.

The pioneers attacked furiously, unrelenting in their assault and unleashed all their skills. The raiding party suffered all kinds of debuffs and were scattered under the brutal attack. Then the air was sucked away by a dark force. A wave of panic hit as all the pioneers gagged then hundreds of black beads coalesced and tore through the attackers. One of the magi soared into the sky weaving her Forest Whisper. The staff moved in graceful arcs and as it swept through the air, the black beads multiplied and shredded the armor of the attackers. By the time the magic ceased, half the attackers had fallen, horribly scarred.

Now outnumbering their attackers, the raid party regrouped and ganged on one attacker at a time. Elementalists now shielded from the attackers had time to summon bolts of lightning that tore into their skirmishers with devastating damage. The battle was decisive. In five minutes, all the attackers lay dead. All had fought with amazing strength and taken on incredible amounts of damage before they were slain. There can be no other conclusion, these attackers had been cursed with a powerful magic that had enhanced their powers ...
