New Pioneers' Handbook - Weapon Types

Though there are many weapon types used by the inhabitants of Granado Espada, each have their own unique specialized use, some are meant for debuffs while others are meant to deliver massive amounts of damage etc. Although different users of the same weapon can employ different stances, generally speaking, the weapon excels when the corresponding stance suits its specialisation. Knowing the specialisation of each weapon will help you decide on the optimum enchantments for that weapon.

For example,
Pistols and Daggers - Daggers have low base attack and are meant for inflicting debuffs. Its related stances such as Arnis, Grinding and Femme Fatalie all depend on fast and quick attacks of the dagger to inflict various debuffs on the enemy. Pistols are valued for their ability to inflict mortal wound on the enemy as well. As such, the most effective enchantments for daggers involve high atk speed and 3AR.

Shotguns, Crescents, Greatswords and Polearms - These are brutal melee weapons designed for delivering massive damage in a single skill. Stances such as Hanging Guard, Soul Guard, Tronado Cruz etc all have skills with high damage multipliers, striving to down an opponent or take off a large chunk of his hp in a single skill. Shotguns also deliver blasts of damage in a single skill. As such, most effective enchantments include high atk and racial damage.

Rapiers and Swords - Swords deliver considerable damage and offers more defensive capabilities to the user. Stances like Rapier and Equites stance best demonstrates the sword's potential. While its damage output is on a lower level then crescents, greatswords and polearms, its usually used in situations where the enemy is extremely powerful, putting the swordsman in great danger and needs more defense in exchange for a longer battle duration. Most effective enchantments include high atk and 3AR.

Crossbows, Rifles, Martial Arts, Sabres and Tonfas - These weapons deliver a constant and steady stream of damage that in the long run can deliver the most amount of damage per second. However, this is usually provided that the attacker is uninterrupted. Melee attackers are handicapped when employing this method of assault as they are prone to being knockdown frequently and will not be able to deliver damage while being knockdown and as such lose out to those weapons where damage is concentrated in a single use of skill. Crossbow and Rifle users are most effective in this method of combat as their extreme range of 15 to over 20m for some stances helps keep them safe from the enemy's attacks. Most effective enchantments are crit rates and 3AR.

Magical Weapons - Magical damage are usually delivered through skills. Unlike melee and range weapons however, magical attacks do not depend on crit rates and are less reliant on AR. Best enchantments include high atk and racial damage.

Hammers, Controllers and Pendants - Effects vary but generally speaking, effective enchantments are usually 3AR. Focus on building up high penetration boosts through use of Spudomenes and Onyx.
